Surrounded by boxes and mess.

We (Nathan & Ruth) moved into our new house this week.  So have been surrounded by boxes and mess.  We've had to work out which kitchen cabinet the glasses will work best in.  Such a simple thing but we're on our third cupboard in an attempt to make it work!  We've now got all the furniture in and there are fewer boxes littering the hallway and bedrooms.

I (Nathan) shared a little bit at small group last week, on the day all our furniture was delivered out of storage, about the intimacy we find in the in verse below from John 14:2.  We were preparing our kid's rooms and getting them ready with their own beds, toys, clothes, etc etc.

My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?

It made me think about the intimacy there is in this verse where Jesus reassures His disciples that He is going to Heaven to prepare a place for them; his friends.  It challenged me in two ways:  Firstly, that despite all the busyness of moving house, planting a church and getting the kids settled in school - taking time out to spend with Jesus needed to be the priority.  Intimacy with Jesus doesn't happen by accident, I need to be intentional about it.  Secondly, I need to remember that life is to be lived in the light of eternity rather than getting too preoccupied with what is temporary.

I am so excited to think that Jesus is preparing a new home for this new little church in the wonderful town of Falmouth!  It's so encouraging to think He knows our needs and our vision and is already at work preparing a space for us.  If you would like to come along to our small group - please get in touch!  We'd love to meet you!  Email us for meeting details:
